Yes, the way it goes on will be like our other diffusers. You take off the black plastic strip there now. Our part replaces that. it goes on with 3M tape already installed, and 2 bolts on each side above the exhaust as an extra precaution.
The 2 bolt in the end are actually harder to get to then the method Carne57 used. To access the 2 bolts the mufflers need to be dropped by the hanger, or you can unbolt the hanger its self and let the mufflers come down with the hanger.
NONE of our diffusers go on only with double sided tape. They all are secured on the sides with bolts. In this case and with our recent CL55 group buy, we realized our bolts are very hard to get to, and sometimes hit the frame rails. So this method Carne57 used is the same the CL55 group used to secure the sides. It is actually better, and actually easier. This why he test fit it for us to know what is required for installation.
The diffusers once sent out to everyone will come with bolts and holes pre drilled in the diffuser.

BUT it says you need to trim the bumper on an SL500? I am not sure if that is accurate, or how much would need to be trimmed if any. Because you probably do not want to be doing any trimming on the diffuser.

There is no "rig'ing" of anything here. Since the start we said that the diffuser will probably go on like our others which is with double sided tape and 2 bolts. Here was my post in post # 77

BlackC230Coupe,
I not looking to trim anything after the diffuser is in place, but i think you have to trim to go dual tip.

dual tip exhaust
I just placed an order for a set of triple chrome dual staggered tips that "should" fit, as long as installed by someone who knows what they're doing. I purchased them from Assured Automotive Products. As soon as I have them and they're installed I'll post pics and feedback as to the fit. These will be welded to some Euro cans (8" mufflers) that should sound good if they turn out like the sound clip I heard of them. They will be a tight fit, but if done patiently they should be fine, I hope.
Here's the link to the tips - http://www.assuredautomotiveproducts...E.qscstrfrnt01

Carne57,
Thanks for all the great feedback. I had installed the carbon fiber rear spoiler, steering wheel, shift knob with all the interior trim on to my SL, so can't wait to finally install the rear diffuser as the finishing touch. However, those dual tips does sound very appealing at $119. Let us know how they fit.

rear exhaust tips
I'll take step by step install pics, before and after etc to show how it all works out. I've spent way too many hours online and at a couple exhaust sources trying to find tips that will work and so far these are the most promising, so fingers crossed. As soon as they are received we'll be in the shop...

Carne57,
Let us know as soon as you know they fit. I looked at the performance ones that BlackC230Coupe recommended but when you go on the site the site they say modifications required and I do not want to have to modify that new diffuser. So please post pictures and thank you for the information.

Great news! All diffusers are done!!!! I was going to get them shipped out today, but the clear coat is not quite dry yet! Almost, just just a bit sticky still. So we will ship them on Monday to play it safe. I will be emailing everyone then with the tracking numbers.
Thanks again to all for your patience.

Rear CF diffuser
Thanks again Neal, I think everyone should be very happy. A few well placed pieces of CF really set the car off nicely.
On another note, still waiting to get my car in to have the new cans and tips installed. The tips that I shared with everyone should be a good fit, just had Toan and the boys at Kartoyz look at them and dry fit and all agreed they'll fit, tight but a nice snug fit, no cutting... Will send pics as soon as installed, hopefully no more than another week or so.
