I have spoken to Neal at Euroteck and he has agreed to create a rear Carbon Fiber Diffuser for the R230 SL500 with the OEM AMG Sports Package body. We need 10 orders, pre-paid before production in order to proceed. Cost is estimated around $700.00. The part will be an insert, or direct bolt on. No modification or cutting will be needed. It will be similar to a stock model, but can be modified in R&D if we decide to tweak it a bit.

Send me a PM if interested, or put me in contact with anyone who may be. Also if you have any local shops that might be interested in picking one up for stock. I would imagine that if we can get more than ten orders we can look for a reduced cost.

Hi Guys,

I wanted to post here to help with more info. The diffuser we would make would be a 3 fin diffuser, similar to the SL63. It would also look along the lines of our C63 diffuser we make. Price would be $690 if we got 10 people.

Would this direct fit a 2005 SL65 AMG?

Unfortunately, it will fit the bumper, but the exhaust cut outs are larger on the AMG models, so yet it is so close, it wont technically fit. I wish it did, because that would help a lot!

is there any chance an amg size exhaust could be built? i am interested in options for either the 09 style bumper or the older, but I will be using the amg tips

Well, it would require 2 different moulds! So that means 2 entire different parts. Would be very unlikely for us to do, unless we saw lots of interest, which I doubt we will see. Do most SL owners (NON AMG MODELS) have stock exhaust or tips? if most upfraded to a quad tip, then it can help a lot.

I just was going off the assumption that more of the 55 and 65 owners are the ones actively modding their cars and they all have the quad tips

I approached Euroteck for the SL500 which is why it is the car being planned. Besides, you already have all the horsepower... We need a bit of style... I'm sure that if you ask they will gladly do a 55 or 65 if you get the minimum orders.

Sometimes that is the case. But at the moment, we were trying to get it done for the SL500 Sport model.

We do not make one, and would only make one for a group buy.

I agree with this whole-heartedly (no offense to my non-power adder brotheren), but I think the interest level and willingness to commit to the buy would be much higher with the AMG guys. Count me in that group, as I've been interested in the carbon diffuser upgrade path for the pre-09 cars.

did you modify the bumper for those tips? or are those not the amg tips?

It works on that bumper, but, did you have to cut anything for those tips? if you did, then there may be an issue, if not, then you are good!

Well we're at 5 now I believe for the none 55/65 cars, and you make two for your group, so... Still need some more folks for the SL500 AMG sport pkg R230 rear diffuser. Call some friends folks and let's get this done.

Will it fit a stock 2006 Sl600 with single oval tips. I like the duel tips too but the car currently has singles.

I believe so, as long as you have the stock AMG sport package body it will fit. Can we add you to the list? Should be a very cool piece.
