SL/R230: Anyone have sl500 Third Brake Light laying arounf?

Anyone have sl500 Third Brake Light laying around?
I know lots of people upgrade to the sl63 amg clear one. I need a replacement one for my sl500. Parts.com has either one for 135 shipped brand new. So seeing if anyone upgraded to clear and has their old one laying around they want to sell.

Also try searching for the brake light at an Automotive Salvage Facility (aka junk yard) in your area or on their web sites. If you can't check the condition of the used brake light lens, then make sure the seller promises in writing that it's in perfect condition (no cracks).

Buy a new one, not used if possible.
I looked around forever trying to get a good deal on a used one. If you do find one (which is difficult), it will run $100 or so.
The edges of these brake lights are brittle, so if it hasn't been removed, it will likely crumble between the uninstall/reinstall on your own car.
Also, there is a gasket that comes with the new one, that will disintegrate when you remove the brakelight. So if you get a used one, you'll end up using RTV or sealant to attach it to your car. And if it leaks, your trunk lid (and trunk!) will end up with water in them.. not good with the sensitive electronics in there......
I gave up and bought a brand new clear one for $135 and never looked back.

There right about the gasket,it gets destroyed, but I think you could make one out of something. That being said, I may have one laying around I would give to you for the price of shipping.I don't know for sure if I do but I,ll look tommorow and if I find it I'll pm you for an address.
