Is it possible for a new grille?

I have a 2007 sl550. I was wondering if it was possible to get the one lined grill that is similar to the one that the 09+ sl's have. I've seen them on 03-06 sl500's but I can't seem to find grilles that would fit in my sl550. Thanks!

Thank you ThreeMB. Is the fit on those perfectly fine? Worth getting?

Also, Big dog there are plenty of ones out there for an 03 sl500. Check out 55tech.com

Yes. All one has to do is a simple search of this forum or eBay.

Just one example:

All these grilles are Asian made regardless if US or Chinese seller.

I know that grilles from "jakuo" and "5th-gear" for 2003-2006 do fit perfectly and look at least as good as OEM.

Do not have first hand knowledge of 2007-2008 grilles fitment, but "expresspart" is a US seller and its much easier to return if you're not happy. IMHO, for the price, there's nothing to think about.

This is 2007-08 SL with this type grille (I do not know the origin source):

Thanks! Is swapping grilles an easy DIY type of thing?

Yes. On SL (at least 2003-06) its the easiest of any Mercedes model, IMO.

Is it true that the chrome on the aftermarket ones will wear off in a year?
