Great job on the pano-roof. That's an update I consider for my ride, too.
New parts look great too, but you made one mistake: You got the non-AMG headlights with the chromed inner case. AMG headlights have a blacked-out inner case, with only the Xenon tubes being chromed. Makes quite a big difference for the car's street presence IMO (especially on a black car).

Reason is simple. Taste. I love the look with all chrome. Looks so new and original, Looks the best. Hate the black ones. Looks homemade and cheap, and would never put black headlights on any of my cars. It is on a black car a chrome light really stands out and shows. Why hide a beautiful feature? So it is all about personal taste.

Question: I notice on some of the 2012 SL models the console is a tiny bit diffrent. There is a silver rotary dial to the left of the shifter. What is that dial and can a '03 be updated to this console? I like the new look.

That's a good one...
Uhmmm... to me it looks more original, if it actually IS original. And the AMG headlamps aren't black. It's just the lower inner case that is matte/black, everything else remains chrome (Xenon tubes, blinker housing etc.).
But yea, if you mod your car, you're definitely right that it remains a question of personal taste and preference.

Glad you like it. This is in a stall right now since the hood takes for ever to get and when I got it it was broken so now I have to wait again for a new one.

Glad you like it....Got all parts...But the Black Series hood I finaly got after 6 weeks was of course damaged in shipping so now I have to wait for a new one....

In my 2003, there is wood trim around my command unit. The newer version looks like the wood trim is gone. Will the new one still fit? What's the newest year command unit that will fit into the 03 SL500?

Its nice to have someone with knowledge and know how to be able to upgrade these.
I think all of us like our cars but always look to be able to upgrade with facelift parts. Too bad you get banned when you can actualy provide useful information.

Nice to catch you on this one, Malcom. Oh I forgot your wife is Swedish as well so you must be fluent in Swedish. Like I said on our UK forum no one does better than Chris the swede. He is a real MB fanatic. Anyway, his avatar signature says it all lol.
