Small modification at left side intercooler.

Hello.

Left side intercooler had small fitment problems so I decide to made a small modification at the intercooler.
At the first picture you can see the small pipe must go around the second pipeline.... and It's very thight. Speedriven have made all pipelines already with the kitt but my opinion is that they should have done it this way.

- Took of the small pipe and install a new one. If you do this, this way you have two connections less and it's not so tight anymore.
I found a new rubber pipeline which have a nice bend ready.

At the first picture you can see the problem and at the last picture you can see how it's look like now when I have modified it.

Hi, Juha.
Just one side question:
How did you evacuate the air from the cooling system ?
Cheers, Frank

Because the gearbox shifter is broken I have not do it 100%. Cant use the car.

First I have install the coolers so theirs air vents is at the highest position at the whole system... at the same level as the coolant fill cap by-pass flow tube.
Took of the IC air vents and fill from the coolant fill cap so much liquid so it flow out from the IC air vents and look them then.

Because I don't drop all the liquid when I change the coolers I think this method is enough,,,, but who nows. ( Liquid run out only so much the OEM IC lowest level was at the tube lines so when you install the new IC at the same pipelines and fill slow I think it's enough )
Maybe I must take it to the dealer to do it If I get problems with IC temps... but I think this is enough.

SL600 Air pump location and maybe I can repair it.

So my secondary pump failed down... I got the engine light and the fault code few times now.... so I decide to take it of before I ordered a new one.
It took a while to found where the pump is at SL600
It's NOT at the right side under the headlight.... and it's not under left side headlight

The pump located at the right under the coil pack.... at the front of the engine.
It was tight to take it of but it was much easier than I first thought. Only 1/2 hour.
When I look at it I wonder what the problem could be when it's not run... so I decide to open it before I order a new one....
(I had my I-phone at my house so I could not take any picture yet but I'm gone do it when I install it bak. This pump cost here approx 1200 USD).
I found the problem and I laugh for my self. It was very dirty inside.... lot of black dust.... al lot of it. Lot of this dust was at the bearings to so the pump need a lot of more Amp to run.... and therefore you got the fault code.... I'm pretty sure about that.
The two coals was also like a new ones.
So I'm gone only clean it up and order new bearings because I have already opened it.
So the repair is only gone cost 10-20 USD and after that is like a new one.
Easliy earned money...

So you only need order two bearings which have following numbers 608S and change them and that's it.

If you want order a new pump I have found out what this secondary pump part number is.
- Mercedes OEM partnumber is 0001404285
- Bosch part number for Mercedes OEM is 0580 000 018
- Bosch own part number is 0580 000 017

The same smog pump have three different part numbers . It depends on who you ask.
This pump fit SL600 R230 and many different mercedes models also.

Juha

I used the OEM pumper "plastic insert" at my Prior front pumper. I cut it so it fit the Prior pumper and glued it.
The PDC holes are already there. You can order the OEM PDC sensors holders separately from Mercedes. Few dollar each and glued them.
