SL/R230: Looking for advice

Looking for advice
Hello,
I am considering purchasing a 2009 SL 550. The car has relatively low miles. What do I need to know? Good or bad. What would be a fair price? Would this car be good for daily driving as it would be my primary transportation.
Thank you

2009 SL 550 Silver Arrow Launch Edition
I think it is a good choice as Mercedes Benz has learned from past model's problems and corrected most of them. Why I bought mine.

Do not slack on your service. And change the ABC filter and fluid.

Thanks. I would be driving the car daily. I am having a hard time deciding between a 2009 SL 550 or 63 (CPO with extended warranty) vs a 2013 E350 XMatic Coupe.
I appreciate opinions, experiences and incite.

If you want something that is a great daily driver, get the E350. The SL is an awesome vehicle but not very practical as a daily driver if you are putting any real type of mileage on the car. How many miles do you drive per month or per year?

My last auto I have had for 9 years and have 99,900 miles. So, I have driven approx. 11,000 miles per year. Thanks for your opinions. I am having a hard time deciding. I should have never driven the SL. O.O.
My head tells me to get the E 350 XMatic Coupe. For me and my taste, it's the best driving car I have driven with a style and size I am looking for. (Vs BMW, Audi, Lexus and Infiniti). I would like more horse power but the 550 was just not the same. I would prefer the SL over the 550 ride. Crazy aye?! I really like the 550 horse power but the ride was not the same as the 350. Will the 350 have the same ride in 5 or 8 years from now?
Then, right there on the lot was a 2009 SL. Approximately the same price. I am now hooked. So, my head is telling me go for a 350 but the best ride (for me) was the SL. Constructive advice, opinions and information is appreciated.

That said, I perform all my own maintenance and do have a truck I use for errands requiring such. It's comforting to know I have a backup should anything put the SL out of commission for a few days.
I think it really depends if the SL would be you only car and, can you do basic maintenance yourself or truly afford to pay others to keep her in top shape?

2011 SL550, 2012 E550 Cabriolet
My wife drives a 2012 E550 convertible every day and loves it. Car has lots of power and super comfortable to drive. My 2011 SL550 is my weekend driver as I also have a company car for work as my daily driver. I don't know that I'd like to drive the SL every day though. It's kind of nice using it only for pleasure.

I drive my SL65 as my daily until my warranty goes out in 30k miles/4yr, when it goes in for turbo upgrades, drive it with 638 rwhp (stock is 505) and I can't complain but when it brakes down have another car to drive as it can take awhile in some cases. Basically SL65 for nice dry weather, and my Tesla Model S for anything.
But then again its nice when you have 1 car that requires 0 gas ($5 a charge for 240 mis vs $80 of fuel for 160-380 mis which is usually less cause I work in DC), and almost no maintenance and one that's the complete opposite lol.
When people ask me which I prefer I tell them my SL over my Tesla any day, but its still a nice car just not as great as a 65

I love my 2009 SL550 to pieces. Until yesterday, that is, when I paid $4,600 to fix various issues (ABC pump leak, motor mounts, engine air filter, and oil separator housing crack). Still, that's less than a year's depreciation. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm upgrading it to a 2015 as soon as they're available.
