Finally I got what my R230 was missing !!"Panoramic Roof retro"
I recently purchased a used panoramic roof for my sl500.I purchesed it on ebay with the headliner and sun shade. I just sent it out today to paint shop for color match paint to my SL500. I will provide pics when pano roof is installed !!

You'll love it.. Open air feeling even in bad weather. FYI. the pano roof is from a SL55/600 with the Alcantara headliner which your 500 doesn't have. You may want to buy the matching pieces for the A-pillars/visors/rear to have a matching set. Nice upgrade from the standard one

Updated my fellow MBWorld members Today I picked up my Pano roof from body shop and it came out great perfect color match and quality paint work ! I did the installed myself and it was very straight forward (easy)diy. It made my SL500 just even better looking if that could be possible, cause it already a sweet ride from factory .But the Pano roof is like the icing on the cake..lol. I recommend it to everyone who doesn't have the Pano roof on there r230 models.

I should have post some pics of installation before but I forgot. Anyway its very easy Diy .I had my neighbor help me hold the top when I open it . Then removed the headliner panel off ,Then its all of matter of removing all bolts and some little clips and the hard top comes out and then put your pano top down on brackets and replaced all bolts and clips and headliner back and that its, it took me 45 minutes. Once you removed the headliner panel out you can see how to performed the job it easy !!
