Which fuse for soft close
Hi All,
I found a copy of the fuse chart (sort of) online but I can't make sense of it. Can anyone tell me which of these fuses is most likely to be the one for the soft close doors? Also, it looks like I'm missing two. I suspect they're for some accessory that I don't have on my car Cheers..

Are you asking about a SL Mercedes? Not a S-class?
SLs don't have soft close on the doors.
If you mean soft close on the trunk (boot), then that is fuse 71, the yellow one in your picture. That is the fuse for the central locking pump (PSE).

Hey Guys, while out shopping at Sawgrass mall (on vacation in Fla) I came out to a trunk that wouldn't close completely. The auto-close operated normally but it won’t latch down to a full lock. I ended up slamming the trunk down to close. I came out to my car this morning, started it up and the dash warning read “NO CONVENIENCE AVAILABLE” No radio or interior accessories worked. I let the car idle hoping to charge the consumer battery and shut the car off. Restarted and everything is normal. Do you think the trunk problem (possible leak) is related to the consumer battery being dead this morning?

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Or the other way round, a dead battery causing the softclose not to operate. If the lock or something else is leaking air, the concerning section should shut down automatically (hence the pull the fuse trick which temporarily revives such defective section).

If you keep having to do this every few weeks it will eventually go to every few days! You'll probably need to fix the leaks in your lock actuator very common. Failing that the impeller can crack and fail on the vacuum pump under the roof pump, left side of the trunk.
