The "real" AMG SL55 exhaust is so mickey mouse. Each muffler has one exhaust pipe, which branches into 2 exhaust tips. Only the exhaust tip is polished, the rest is just steel. Looks very ugly.

I'm about to order a supersprint exhaust for SL500, once I complete the other mods.

one exhaust pipe branches into 2 tips, what the REAL muffler should be!?!?

this is E55 muffler for my E500, I just order the same one for the SL500. I like sebring exhaust but they dont have the oval shape so for now I put those 'mickey mice'.

JL88, your car doesnt look low enough, did u lower thru dealer or with RBtech?

I bought the tips without knowing it required cutting of the bumper. I have the tips here, I'm probably going to sell them. Any bidders?

Talking

I put an Eisenmann exhaust on my SL500 and I love it. My car has the Sport Package and there was NO modification necessary.

Thank you GaryT for the excellent posting. How much did your exhausts cost ? Where do you get them from ?

PJMusgrave: Thanks for the comments. I just posted a sound clip. Go back to my picture page at http://homepage.mac.com/bluetec/PhotoAlbum3.html Right at the beginning of the page is the link to the "Sound Clip"

Hearing is believing !

Eisenmann is a German manufacturer. I purchased the exhaust from a local tuner here in Florida (Foreign Affairs) for $1,400 including tax and installation.

The exhaust is of excellent stainless steel quality, lighter than the original and certainly does look better.

It does sound good, better than stock, is this an Eisenmann race, high performance or sport exhaust?

Frankly, I don't know. Eisenmann has a lot of different exhaust systems (with different performance levels). Check out their US web site for details: http://www.eisenhaus.com/

GaryT

P.S.
I have more sound clips coming soon.

I took the 76mm. IMHO they look better than the 83mm - and did not require any modifications on the car.

Wow, I heard /saw the sound clip. Man what a difference. I wonder if Eisenmann makes one for the SL600. Who did you deal with at foreign affairs- Bob?
