ABC sportmode?
Hi. I Have a SL500 2003 with ABC. In confortmode the car is very soft. To soft for my tast. In Sportmode it is okey. Can the car's ABC system be damage if I constantly drive in sport mode?

It should not be damaged. Unless there is a weakness somewhere in the system. My understanding is that the Sportmode applies a bit more pressure through the system, in order to firm it up. When new your system is designed to withhold that pressure with no ill effects. But after some years and mileage, some parts can begin to wear, or become a little weaker. There is no way to tell without inspecting your vehicle. Even then, you never can tell.
Just run it and be prepared to repair. Chances are if running Sportmode causes a problem, then it just found a problem that was going to occur later on anyway. It just happened a little sooner. My opinion.

You must have much better roads than I... If the roads are good, I can't imagine why it would be a problem. The public roads around here are subject to such variation that the sport mode is just too harsh.

Thanks for the replies. The problem with the suspension is that there is no antirolbar in the rear. This feels clearley when to overtake another car. When accelerating sharply while swinging out to pass the car in front it feels like the rear end loses traction and body roll part. This disappears when running in sports mode.

Sports mode will appear on your dash with the "S" symbol. You can change from S, W or M (manual if you have it) by clicking the button in the upper left of the gear shift lever.

I think we are confusing two different things here. The ABC sport mode is controlled by the button marked ABC and has 1 light on it. The transmission programming is controlled by the button near the top left of the shifter. S on the cluster means summer, W means winter, and M means manual if you have steering wheel buttons.
