Hi Folks,
First post, so here goes.
I am resident in Wales and am an elderly owner of SLKs.
Ten years ago it was a 170 silver 320.
Seven years ago it was a 171 silver 350
Right now it's a 172 Red (yes, that Red!!) 350.
Two resprays courtesy MB themselves and it's time to seek pastures new so I'm asking you to help me with a choice.
Should I consider a Silver SL 500 first registered in 2008?
If the answer is 'Yes', then please say why. What should I look out for?
And even more important: if the answer is 'NO!!' please tell me the reason for your opinion.

Many thanks Hary Gahtoe, for your response. Not sure about the meaning of your location reference and by extension, your local climate experience.
However, an XKR does, indeed, have certain attractions. But they tend to fade in a climate like ours where the 'Green,Green Grass of Home' gets that way by being liberally watered most days! And the 'green' can therefore quickly spread to the soft top of one's XKR.
The fixed head coupe version, naturally, received no consideration whatsoever...

What I meant about the XKR was your area is what the car was designed for.
Parts would be easy to come by.
Surroundings have a lot to do with choosing a car. Oppositely someone from say Kansas normally doesn't look for a 911. That sort of thing.
Everyone should choose what makes them happy. Look for what lights up your soul
