New 911 - verdict?

I'm not so sure it works as well as the current 4S. Maybe its the colour. The interior doesn't look like much of a step forward either. Steering wheel seems to have Nissan 350z quality buttons. (don't get me wrong I love 350zs, but they don't cost 80,000EUR)

Slightly dissappointed - opportunity missed? Quad pipes look pants on the S, prefer the normal car wider exhaust, though the active suspension on the S sounds cool.

What do you think?

I agree. The 997 is a big step in the right direction

The best 911 for me was the last of the air-cooleds, the 993. The 996 comprehensively lost the plot and went to far to being a soft GT with none of the upside and a cramped horrible interior. The 997 offers the chance to get back on track.

I think it's a modest improvement. The exterior looks good, though the integration of the bumper lights could use some tweaking IMO. Interior is not fantastic, but at least a step up. Hopefully, the Turbo will have more significant power step up...

I agree, the 993 was is my favourite model, and it definitely looks better. The 997 seems to be heading back to the 993 styling, so it looks promising. Haven't seen the interior though, where could I find that?

Not sure why link didn't work

click on the new yellow 911

The interior is a real missed opportunity. It looks like they couldn't really be bothered to change it much.

Well, finally it doesn't look like a Boxster from the front, but the rear still looks like the side of an egg. The interior is weak, at best. There are just so many other cars I'd have to consider.

Agree with that. I'd love a 993 as a kind of retro, heritage thing but modern 911s leave me cold. Porsche are so scared about moving away from the iconic shape and that limits what they can do with the interior. Hate the new steering wheel.
