Did you disconnect the battery under the hood prior to replacing the rear battery? In some thread I saw that this was the proper method or you get the red battery light.

I did not disconnet the starter battery in front. You think I should try to un hook front and back and then install them back ?

Thanks for reply

Welcome to the forum. You need to address the battery issue first. My guess is that the system sees the battery as being discharged and will not let the various switches activate. If the top was working before the new battery install then there is your answer. Clear the battery fault first.

See attached troubleshooting guide.

Good luck,

Bob

top stuck

For my '03 model replacing rear battery is no problem, no need to disconnect front starter battery. I must reset windows and ESP system per method described in owners manual. I repalced my rear battery just a few months ago. If I were you I'd use a voltmeter to check for 14v on both front and rear batteries. Red light on does puzzle me as to what is going on. keep us posted.

NO! It's the other way around - always disconnect the rear/consumer battery before the front/starter battery.
