early R230 COMAND Systems
Can anyone provide the name of the manufacturer of the 2003 -2004 COMAND audio system control head .. ? also has anyone ever replaced ONLY the small screen in one ?
(Mine was severely deep scratched by a "well meaning" detailer and are too deep to "polish out" .. I want to merely retain the systems originality)

Lastly...Does anyone know IF the SCREEN in the COMAND Control Head can be replaced ?.. (Since my original unit is pristine .. except the gouged screen).

Thanks I was considering buying a used parts unit with a GOOD clean screen and having a local shop swap the new screen out into my original unit .. I bought the car new in July '03 (now has 9220 miles !)..
Diamond Silver / Charcoal .. AMG BIG (P030) brakes, Quaife geared LSD (no AMG clutches) , Black Series 19" rims , new rear SL55 shocks, new VARIO top / and trunk cylinders and is honestly pristine..
Just kinda wary of used /unknown parts I
