Sl alloy wheels

Hi, im after some new wheels for my 03 500, as mine are old and starting to flake. I know mine are staggered 8.5j and 9.5j. I seem to be limited for choice, can anyone tell me if wheels from a class, or a c63 will fit?
something still mercedes but maybe from a newer generation

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.
The wheels on R230 have pretty low offset, if you look at them. The offset is marked with "+ [number]" or "-[number]". For example: if your are stock, most likely you'll see numbers like +33 or +35 or maybe as low as +25. It's pretty important to swap with wheels of similar offset to not touch anything inside the arch, on the other side of the wheel. Other models of MB, such as C class, E class, S class, run on a higher offset: from +45 all the way to +60. With a wider wheel it might not fit properly on your car.

There are still people that managed to fit wheels with high offset and are happy campers as well. Nevertheless a lower offset, as close to original as possible is recommended.

The only other model that I found for a direct swap would be the CL class. They run on similar sizes and offsets. On the other had you may not limit yourself to MB rims, like many other owners here. My choice was a set of CLS55AMG (2006-2007 year model) wheels that fit perfectly my SL.

Same with width. You can stick to stock or you can put some wider wheels in the back. They do make the car look nicer. Usually the bigger wheel diameter you go the wider it is. But most of the sellers will tell you if they fit or not. Also you can search on the forum for other threads about wheel fitment.

Regards

Hi,
Have look at these sites:

https://www.willtheyfit.com/?width=2...=10&offset2=47

They should ease your search for new rims.

Cheers

Okay, so i have found some nice wheels from a 2014 r231, as far as know the wheel specs are

They are 8.5Jx19" ET34.5 front and 9.5Jx19" ET48 rear

i currently have the standard 8.5j x18 and 9.5jx18, Et 35 and et40 at the rear.

will this cause me problems with the abc, or can i use spacers etc?

thank you

Have a look on the willtheyfit link above, that'll tell you what the differences are between what you currently have and the new ones.
