SL/R230: Forever FIX off your ABC issues and engine oil use

Update success
I just added some QMI hydraulic sealer to my sl500 system. I ordered the liquid from Norway, the same ppl who make Royal Purple lubricant. The container was sent regular post and only cost $10 for shipping and it took less than 3 weeks to arrive. I'll report my findings in a few days. I also received my refurbished valve block in case I need it
Ususally in the am the car would lean to the drivers side and there was no clearance between the tire and fender lip. Now after sitting all day yesterday and during the nite that leak seems to be gone. The car no longer leans and I can put 2 fingers between the tire and fender lip !! I don't know how long long it will last but it's all good now!! I ordered the fluid from Norway and had it sent regular mail it only took about 3 weeks. It's well worth the cost to give it a try.

Well just found a weeping strut yesterday. Ordered a bottle from Norway. We'll see what happens.
Car sat for almost 7 years and I'm sure that's what caused the leak.
New strut will happen if this doesn't work.
I'll make an update when I have tested the QMI product and have some results.
And for anyone who wants to know where to get it in Norway, here is the link. QMI Site

Two months ago I put it in my Variable Roof hydraulics on SL55. It had leaked a lot of fluid and wouldn't go all the way up. Seems to be working great with no leaks so far. Also, put it in my CL500 ABC and seems good. Waiting few months before putting it in SL55 ABC. I noticed an ad from somewhere that states specifically for Mercedes ABC.

Hi All
Is this stuff even available anymore? I cant seem to find any available. Is there anything else that can be used in the engine and ABC system? I have inherited my uncles 2002 SL500 and want to make sure all seals etc are refreshed?
I am in the UK though so products may differ
Thanks

finally looked to the end of this thread. I have a slight leak in my top hydraulics, takes several up/down cycles to loose enough to stop working. so far I have not found the source of leak. have not pulled out all the covers in the trunk.
it sent me to amazon to order. how much should I add next time my top reservoir is low? what you get is 3.4oz

can add 60 to 70 ml , but issue is get the stuff to the seals , if seals are cracked , it will not work, but will help all other seals that is not cracked . would be good idea change the oil in system also. 20 year old oil, not good.

thanks. recall I have been losing fluid constantly. takes several cycles of top up/down to lose enough that causes it to stop moving, up or down. seems I only have to add a few oz to bring back to the top mark on the tank. surprised I have not yet found where it is going. still need to pull out all the panels in the trunk.
so if I drain the reservoir only and refill with fresh fluid, is that enough? I would suspect the fresh fluid would find its way to the leak.
but willing to fully drain the system. any suggestion on the best way to fully drain and replace the fluid? then add the stuff to the new fill.

Hmmm.....
problem is I have not found source of leak. suspect it is hiding somewhere behind covers. but over so much time just cant understand why I have not found it coming out somewhere. I have heard it is easy to replace seals .... if I can find location.
no suggestion about draining system and refill? so will just drain the reservoir and refill with the amount of sealer added before. hoping the sealer will find its way to the leak...

thanks but this does not appear to remove old fluid.
the technique I saw removed the second plug that let the air escape as I added fluid. has work good so far.
I tried adding the stop leak suggested when the level dropped to where the roof would not work and it has not stopped the small leak. it appears to work as described since the rubber tip of the fluid syringe I used swelled up so much it is no longer usable.
read threads about finding source of leak. since I have never seen any sign of fluid anywhere accessible, I am suspecting it is on the parts in front of the rear wheels next to the rear panels and storage shelf. looked like a lot of work to get them out, but in that video that is where the guy found the leak.
going to finish the fusing of the BCM first.
despite these minor issues I really LOVE this car. an incredible, angry beast.
