The newer multiple speed transmissions cannot handle the amount of torque the V12 makes. They are more suited for the V8's and V6"s to get them through the gears quicker and give them better performance numbers.

But AMG did this on the 2020 S65 Final Edition, that's what make me curious. I also have SL65 (I guess I should post this on AMG instead of general R230).

Well, I am trying to figure out how to do it on a lower budget. Also I'm worry about the software. 4Matic Plus is installed in almost all new MB. Let's say I can try to look it up at the junk yard @ Copart, then what's the next step if I got it. I'm doing a build of 2005 SL65 AMG. This is actually used to be Wayne Leland SL (Can check his old post) with Renntech/Speedriven/Eurocharged performance. So the engine is making around 800-900HP. I am putting SR 66.1 wide body kit. It will be wonderful if I can also change the transmission

I would go for a manual transmission much more fun
you can take a BMW V12 trans, adapt the bell house then disable stuff in modules not to expensive
if you have no skills in programming, manipulating internal softwares with Vediamo then no budget to pay someone to do all this cable and programming work (10.000$) easy
forget it
I can turn your car into a blender with my friends but the price will make you run much faster than your car

Check with Eurocharged to see if they can make the programming work. You would probably need to adjust your tune so it makes less low end torque so you don't destroy the transmission. The standard 5 speed is pretty terrible but reliable so I can see why you would want to change. Check out the SPDV6 kits. IMHO, they are the best looking kits out there.

Thank you for all the kind reply. I am a hardware engineer by training. Pretty familiar with FPGA programming, C/C++, assembly language. But pretty new with Vediamo. I just recently bought MB Star clone with Vediamo but haven't had time to play with it. I will investigate the manual option. I agree if we can go manual, it will be more fun. I know Tavarish did that but he got it from eastern Europe too.

@ BlownV8, I already bought SR66.1 body kit. The kit is actually already in warehouse in Elk Grove, IL now. I am literally trying to work with the freight to get it released so I can pick it up this week. For some reason I like the front of SR66.1 better than the 2009 black edition kind of style look. It got delay for more than 1.5 month due to COVID-19. They cannot get a sea freight to ship it from Poland. But I'm excited. This has been 5 month process since I bought the SL65 in late December.
