Power Off

I have searched but not found my problem. My car, a 2003 sl500, announces "power off" but nothing seems to not work! The car runs and drives normally and it reports no malfunctions. Can anyone please explain to me what is going on. The car has a total of 27,000 miles and is in perfect shape.

No, it is an announcement by a woman. Nothing on the screen.

We need more info. What happens when you turn off the car then open the door?

Sounds like an after market Bluetooth add-on to me.

I think that you got it!

Frederick NL is a genius! I think that you are correct as I added a Bluetooth system a couple of weeks ago. BTW it works really well in every way. I am sure that you are correct. Thanks soooooo much!

Heh. What brand BT interface did you add, and to what head unit? Does it stream audio from a phone?

Bluetooth

Frederick,

I bought the iSimple ISBT52 from Amazon and it works perfectly. They now have this thing on sale for under $10! That is not what I paid for it but I am totally happy with mine. I use it with an iPhone for music and for telephone and both work very well. I bought a similar unit for my Jaguar and while it works well it is a little more complex to wire and use than the one for the Mercedes.

I was so frustrated trying to find an interface that would allow at least some of the steering wheel controls to work and this was the answer. Simple to wire and use and it is flawless.

You plug it in to the Aux jack in the glovebox?

Yes, it plugs into the AUX jack in the glovebox. It is really simple to install and works very well. I still have to hide the wires but that will be no real problem as they are very small. I can't believe Amazon's price.
