2005 SL600 ABC Preventive Maintenance
Seeing as the inclement weather season is fast approaching I'm considering doing my own preventive maintenance on my 2005 SL600 with 41k miles on it. One area I'm considering is the ABC system. I changed the fluid out about 4k miles ago. The only issue right now is every month or so I MAY get a low body height message. It is easily corrected by raising then lowering the body via the button. No leaks.
So, as part of preventive maintenance I'm considering swapping out the 3 accumulators, replacing the seals on the front/rear hydraulic value blocks, then flushing the ABC fuild again.
Worth doing? Best source for parts? I plan on doing it myself (I have access to STAR). What say you well of knowledge?

I think all of us are aware of the finite service life of each and every ABC component, thank you. My point was that if a 2003 car with low miles still has the original accumulators, then it's plausible (and likely, in my opinion) that the O.P.'s car needn't have any accumulators replaced at this point in time. For no reason would I open the ABC system up and risk debris entering unless it were necessary.
he can ofcourse take the job open actuators and change O rings , but still would need this stuff to refresh rubber in shocks and other seals in system. NO need to invent the wheel again, we others done this ,and know what he need do .

I changed the accumulators (SL600 year 06) because I heard slight slapping noises when driving over a manhole cover. The car moved very easily on fast corners and manhole covers. After the replacement, that was over. The parts are 15 years old, it doesn't matter how many miles the car has driven.
