right. I never coded out the removed devices and I have left the factory amp and head unit in and everything worked well. Now for some reason the amp will not allow light to pass through it. If I wanted to install an aftermarket head unit, would I need to rewire everything? This system is very confusing.
to all readers, this is a stock radio replacement conversation we are having offline
but all my comments are valid if you replace your radio with a aftermarket

Ran new power and new ground and still have no luck. I highly doubt that all three of my amplifiers are bad. Can anyone else provide some insight? Im at a complete loss here. Thanks again to Benzninja for a ton of help he gave me on the phone.

Just to recap so far. I’ve bypassed the tele-aid module which solved the issue at first. Then when I had no sound a few days later, I bypassed the CD Changer, which at did not solve the issue until I unplugged it. Now, about two weeks later, I have no sound again. None of the three BOSE D2B amps I have will allow the fiber light to pass through, so this is the break in the loop, and the command head unit has confirmed this with its wake up test and diagnostic screen. Again, I am completely stumped and have no idea why this is happening. Fuses are good and the amp is getting power and has good ground. Everyone’s help so far is very appreciated, please keep helping me tackle my issues with this car. This has to be the worst design in car entertainment history.

Intermittent Audio
My 2003 R230 is a PIA!...but I still lover her! Just tried installing a Seicane radio with the D2B converter. Got everything installed per their very incomplete instructions. The head fired up but no audio sound. Not plug n play as they advertised. Also found that the radio was not configured correctly per their advertising photos. Long story short (two days of playing with this), I reinstalled the original Command head which was working perfectly when removed. Got everything back together and low and behold...no audio! Hooked up my Xentry, ran diagnostics, got Command fault codes, erased...bingo! sound! Disconnected Xentry, started car, no sound! Command head lights up, cd changer not recognized. Hooked up Xentry...ran diagnostics, erased fault codes...everything worked! Started car this morning...no audio and it sounds like cd changer is cycling through the discs. Running out of ideas! Seicane...they told me to have a professional installer fix the Seicane issue...I am an installer! They recognize that the unit is defective and they want to refund $200 of my $800 purchase price. They also want me to keep the radio and sell it (a defective unit) to someone else to recoup my loss! What a crooked bunch of bozos!
