Sirius Radio Questions
I am currently waiting for delivery on my 2005 SL 500. I should have it in about 5 weeks. Anyways, while waiting for my car, I am reading up on everything that I can. One thing that has gotten my attention is the satalite radio. Many cars that I see out on the road have a "semi-large black looking thing" on the rooves for satalite radio. Does the SL have something similar that I do not see in pictures; or does the body colored antenna on the drivers side/rear do the trick? Also, once you bring the car home, is setting up the satalite radio as easy as calling Sirius and providing them your receiver and credit card number?
Thanks in advance to everyone who responds.

Get the satellite radio, you won't regret it, do a search here on sirius installs, and you'll see the many very clever ways to do a "stealth" installation of the antenna.

Kort,
None of the installs gave 100% coverage. Some had blackouts or fade outs when driving in either south, north, west or easterly directions. They've discussed dash installs or in the hood fins. None of them gave good coverage. So, if I'm losing that much coverage, it's not worth a cent to me.

I apologize if I asked you this before, but which antenna are you using? Also, if you could post a picture of your installation it would be helpful. I would like to show it to the guy who is going to do my installation-- he has never done it this way. He claims that the only way to get dropout-free reception is to mount the antenna on the trunklid, and that's not gonna happen
