CELL PHONE HOLDER
Gents. I am getting sick and tired of my cell rolling around the vehicle......
Would you mind recommending a good Cell phone holder and location within the car?
As always thanks for sharing your wisdom!

I know what you mean, there is limited places to fit a phone holder and you want to avoid sticking on the window as its messy looking. I had one of those vent ones but they always seem to work loose for me and get in the way of the air flow. I have used CD slot mount ones which are great as I don't need the DVD due to a bluetooth music adaptor I fitted. In the end I fitted a suction cup low height holder with integrated USB C adaptor.
If you look at the video, you can see what I am on about @3:15 onwards.

Cell Phone Mount SL550 - 2009
I struggled for quite a while till I found this - $12 bucks. Works perfect! Got a slightly different WizGear magnetic holder for my wife's Q5 that clips to the AC vent. That works perfect too. Quality products for cheap!

My UK friend, yes indeed, there is not too much space around the small console of cup holders to have a good visual angle for the cell mainly when you are using it for directions.
In the meanwhile, I have created my own version of the cell holder that for the time being, it does the job of keeping the cell from bouncing around the cabin.
I used a hinged stainless-steel wire attached to the underneath of the ashtray lid. It folds when the ashtray lid is closed and can be pulled forward when ready to use. It is held by a glued plate. I took a picture with a mirror so you can see the gadget at work. The only thing that will get the phone out of there is if I roll over, which I am not planning to do!
Wire deployed.
