New Owner: 2005 SL500

I got this (WDBSK75F15F092540) on BaT
Per the seller(dealer) following were done in last 3 months.
- Replaced battery, right-front damper, and front brake pads and rotors.
- Oil Change
Car was driven ~30K miles in the last 4 years but there is no service history ( except California Emission Inspections) reported during this use on CARFAX.
I know these car are maintenance intensive. Once I have this car in a week or so, I plan to get familiar with it.
Please help me keep this car in good shape and enjoy it.

SL500

Please suggest what to look for pre emptily.
Thanks.

R230, W201(s), W124 & E31 and of course, a Prius
Congrats on owning one of the most beautiful German engineered roadsters. I've always loved the black on tan combo. I saw this black beauty on BaT also but didn't the seller list it as having service records? I also own an 2005 R230 (Pewter on charcoal) which I bought in 2015 and it had 64K miles at the time; it now has 69k miles. I didn't know much about the R230 and it was quite a learning experience so I just wish to share what I've done since my ownership of 4k miles - Motor mounts (Surprised they had collapsed at such low miles); this will require you to remove the exhaust pipes downstream of the manifolds for access. AC low pressure hose replaced due to leakage at the crimp joint. Trunk soft close actuator - repaired. Transmission oil and filter replacement (Tranny mount replaced precautionary). Replaced the pressure hose to the pulsation damper due to obvious signs of sweating (Also replaced the pulsation damper precautionary). The front and rear valve blocks were replaced with the updated version; this was due to sagging on the front end and on the rear end which had happened at different times. My latest dilemma, fluid overflow out of the ABC reservoir - this led me to replace all of the accumulators which I've just completed. In conclusion, most R230 enthusiasts will strongly suggest to flush the ABC system and replace it with a fresh filter regardless. Best regards.

Nice ride! It’s a beautiful combination of color performances and ride. Do know this comes with wallet powers required?
Start with basics on the MB maintenance schedule and pretend you are starting ahead of mileage schedule and behind the yearly schedule. Get everything up to date and nd go from there. Oil is ok provided they used MB spec lubricant and filter.
Flush and fill ABC Fluid and change filter. It’s not on the maintenance schedule but do it, it saves problems and $$$.
A battery tender on the trunk battery is required if this is not your DD.
Are you a DIY, Independent MB mechanic, or Dealer shop guy? Help comes from all.

This isn't a maintenance suggestion but a convivence one. You should consider getting a remote top module from mods4cars. It is super easy to install and set up, and it will let you open and close the top (and windows) from your key fob. It really should have came from the factory with that, I think at least.

-ABC Flush/service is first on the list.
-This is not going to be a DD, plus it's driving will be limited to "Summer Weather" in NJ. So it will hibernate in the winter time. While in hibernation will the main /starter battery last without a Trickle charger?
-I am mechanically inclined guy. Though, for the past 25 years my drives only needed routine maintenance ( oil change etc + inspections) for which there was very little financial incentive to DIY. Before than I used to do most of work myself. Let's see if old man can handle this beauty.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I plan to get some professional opinion as soon as the car arrives, and plan from there.
