2004 SL500 Bosch ECU

Does anybody recall what the main ECU Identity number from Bosch for US model 04 500's might be?
I thought it would be easy to pull up the group series code for these online.

That's the ID tag specific to that individual car and I appreciate that.

I was referring in general to R230's in the 04 & > category, like with the nomenclature; Bosch ME2.(0-8) possibly ME3 series

R230's with M113's and maybe all of the M113's used Bosch 2.8.

I'm going to pull out the ABC verification codes and should something go wrong I want to be able to renew the files if it doesn't respond afterwards

I'm no coilover expert, but can't you just code it out in the cluster? Sounds a bit like you are going looking for trouble.

I am confused about this. I have coil overs and Benzninga took away the ABC light on the dash with Xentry. What does the ECU have to do with the project converting to coil overs?

Every MB is like a fingerprint. Each one has a unique factory code.
Right now it is doing a dance after it’s shut off so I was just trying to be overly cautious about the possibility of having to reset the system if it doesn’t respond correctly

DAS can remove the ABC hard codes which are displayed in the dash.

'01 CLK 430 cab, '04 SL500 (230K miles)
Just FYI, you can clone the ECU yourself for cheap. There are KTAG ecu programmers (clones) on aliexpress for around $60 or so. I did my CLK, which is the same ecu as my SL500. ME 2.8. It wasn't to hard to do. I got the used ecu's on ebay for around $30. That was a few years ago. I took my SL500 ecu and cloned it also to have a spare just in case, tested it and it worked perfectly. There are also some ECU cloning services on ebay.

Under the circumstances presently it wouldn't be prudent.
I mentioned previously the car has no error codes and as of lately it is doing a dance after it’s shut off and it is rock hard on startup and drive after countless DAS resets (>30) and MB tech and Indy scrutiny hasn't revealed it's problem so I was thinking ahead about the possibility of having to reset the entire system if it doesn’t respond correctly after I pull the valve blocks and ABC assembly
I'm not in the habit of spending money on things that are systemically unreliable. That's why the ABC is being removed. If there was a clear cut viable answer; ( which nobody has ) I'd rather have kept the ABC but I like the car and my wife and I will be safe and secure with sway bars and coilovers so in my case it's got to go
