Tires
I have a question for all of you out there. When I first purchased new tires, I was going to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Unfortunately, they don't make that tire to fit 19in rims, and the 5s is still not out as of this post, so I had to go with the Pilot Super Sport, which I was told was the only tire (except the Michelin track tire) that would fit the 19in rims. I believe I made a pretty good choice with the choices that were provided to me. I just wanted to get input from all of you on the tire choice—just some background. I have used Michelin tires on my last five cars and would never (unless I went with a truck/suv) go to any different brand because I have used most of the top-rated tires they have to offer, and none came even close to the Michelins.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Where are you getting this information from?
TireRack.com shows the Pilot Sport 4S in stock
The Pilot Super Sport is certainly a top quality tire. Tire choice depends a lot on where you are, and how/when you drive - will you be driving in cold weather? Rain? Snow? These are all things to consider. The Pilot Sport 4S is not an all-season tire; it's built for use in fair, warm weather.
I've got Pilot Sport AS3+ on my car, very happy with them.

I stated the Pilot Sport 5S is not available now. I live in LA, CA., so the weather is always around 75 degrees add 5 degrees for summer and minus 5 degrees for winter. We don't get a lot of rain so I'm driving on dry surfaces 95% of the time. And the way I drive is aggressive.

You may want to look at the All Season version.

I hear you're supposed to get snow this year.

I have Pilot Super Sports on my 2009 SL550 with the 19" AMG Sport rims. To say they are sticky is a huge understatement. They are also very quiet and ride pretty well for such a high performance tire. They won't last long but damn does this car grip with these. I'm pretty sure I've never had a car that can corner like this does now. With the lightest possible motor the SL could have (M273) for this year, it's a very well balanced handler that would surprise many people who consider these a "boulevard cruiser".

Right, I have the Pilot Super Sport 19 inch. What I was saying is I wanted to get the 19 inch in the Pilot Sport 4s which they do not make. I never wanted the "All Season" tire. Just either the 4s or 5s.

They're available in Canada. I put 4 of them on my 19" rims a few months ago.
