Car killer hydraulic hose went out

For those of you who have had to replace this hose, where do you think the best place is to cut the hardline?.
I need a straight section to install the coupler and I think the best place would be behind the a/c dryer but I don't think I'll be able to get a pipe cutter back there without moving the dryer. Then I'd have to refill the a/c which I'd like to avoid. Whatchyall think?

Just came back from a 5000 mile trip out west, no problems at all with the car. Then drove 200 miles to pick up my dog, drove into my garage and as I was putting it into Park, I heard a loud knock and the red ABC light came on. Green fluid all over my garage floor. The rubber hose completely blew off the connector. I stuck it back on there to mark the alignment. 5000 miles thru the deserts and mountains of the West, and it happens right in my garage, how lucky is that !!!

This also happened in Utah, I pulled over to take a picture of it. PS If you are ever in Utah, I would highly recommend going to the Arches National Park.

I cut behind the drier, you should be able to remove the mounting bolt and pull it up enough to get it out of the way. First time I have seen one pull out of the crimp.

Thanks Mike. I slid the dryer up as far as I can, I hope it is enough, it's gunna be tough. Off to Lowe's to get a pipe cutter, hopefully small enough..

That failure makes sense. The crimp ends penetrate the cover and allow just a little bit of moisture in. After 20 years, the steel is corroded enough to tensile and the pressure usually blows a hole. In this case, the failure was up in the crimp, so the crimp help reinforce it until it blew. I guess you can't really complain about 20 years running at 200 bar.

Ok, I got it. That wasn't easy. I don't think I would have been able to do it without getting the dryer up which allowed the pipe to be pulled outward.
I'll take it to Amazon Hose tomorrow and hopefully they will also have the 10mm coupler.

Nice work. +1 on Utah. It is incredible. Bryce Canyon is one of the best places I have ever been.

Amazon hose completed $75 including coupler. He made it in 20 minutes. Now just a few minutes to install it.................UH OH...... I cross threaded the connection to the valve block.
I'll try and tap it but I'm not hopeful, I'll probably have to get another valve block.
