SL/R230: 3d printer files
One of the reasons I thought this would be a good hobby to supplement car restoration, is to be able to print hard to find or expensive plastic parts. For example, the little flaps that fill the gap of the roof strut when the roof is down. They seem to break frequently and Mercedes solution is to replace the whole trim panel at huge expense. Also the sun visor mirror flaps. The plastic hinge breaks and even second hand sun visors cost a fortune on eBay.
Are there any members here into 3d printing? Are there any files of parts around?

Much of what you can do with a 3D printer involves optimizing the printer's operational settings -- temperature, speed, density, etc., and it can take many hours of experimentation to find what works best for a particular part.
I designed and printed the MB star and attached it to an aftermarket wheel cover shown here. Unfortunately, I can't share the STL files because the MB logo is trademarked.
