The display went bad on the old command system, so I decided to try one of those cheap Chinese head units off Aliexpress. Wow, I'm impressed. It works with the factory Bose amp with a fibre optic connection. It has Apple CarPlay and even the steering wheel controls work. It was around $160 and it totally looks like a factory fit.
The only issue I have is that I can't set the clock on the upper dash!

I have a similar setup, which I documented here a few years ago. Having Apple CarPlay is a must for me.
I just went to the car to confirm the steps.
Use lower left menu keys until Speedometer shows "Settings". Press Down-Arrow to select it. A list of settings shows up on the Tachometer.
Press Down-Arrow until you see "Instrument Cluster- Time". You then have to use a combination of the "+", "-" and Down-Arrow keys to select "Time" and get it to show the time. The "+' and "-" keys then adjust the minutes, kit Down-Arrow to go to Hours, and finally Down-Arrow when down. Yes, your volume will adjust while you are doing this.
I just tried it several times, but each time the exact sequence of keys was a bit different, but hopefully that helps.

Thanks for that. Although mine seems different. Going through the settings menus on the dash it doesn't give the option to adjust the time. When I go to Clock via the Instrument Cluster option, it only gives me the option to select 12h or 24h. I can't find anywhere where it says "Time"
I used Xentry to set the instrument cluster option for COMMAND to "not present". After that was done, the clock setting function appeared in the cluster menu.

I now remember disabling this and had to reenable it back. Marking COMAND as 'not present' will not allow steering wheel controls to control your radio (or more specifically, it broke the previous/next track functionality on my Kenwood headunit).
Unfortunately this module won't talk to my Xentry.
I also wanted to code out the ABC system since I changed to coil overs.

I remember seeing a post for this a while back with an ingenious solution. It will work for any year or model exclamation point!
It’s really quite simple and works every time. Follow the following steps:
1) disconnect the negative terminal on your consumer battery at 11:58
2) reconnect negative terminal at exactly 12 o’clock.
Done. Your welcome!
