14.2 1/4 mile
My buddy ran his 04' SL500 yesterday in Valdosta, GA for the first time and ran a 14.2. Thought this was pretty good. I'll post a video of it when I get it done.

The 7 speed is supposed to knock off almost 1/2 second on the 0-60, so it certainly seems reasonable.
I'll let you all know if I can get a better time with better launch technique.

I was looking at my Motor Trend magazine, and I saw that a 2003 SL500 did a 0-60 in 6.4 and 14.6/97.3 in a 1/4 mile. So I guess the 7-speed will do the 0-60 in 5.9?

2005 SL 500
Yeah. I'm shocked that these major automobile magazines don't update their numbers for the SL after it had a major change to the transmission. All of the reviews/specs that I have seen say either 6.4 or 6.1 for the regular 5-speed.
Who knows, maybe there will be an update for next years model.

I'm not sure it will acheive sub 6 sec.
The gearbox is state of the art.
The best gearbox i have experienced, even better than the XJR
The SL500 does seem to work well with this box and it's certainly quick enough to trouble all but a supercar

About a month ago I beat a S2000. According to Motor Trend, the S2000 does a 0-60 in 5.8 and 14.2/99.9 in 1/4 mile.
What I find amazing that the SL500 is awesome in the 60-0 breaking test. The SL500 will stop in 108 ft while the S2000 with stop in 118 ft.

Seems slow. My stock E500 ran a 14.1@99 before I started modding it. And that was on heavy *** 19's. I don't believe the E500 is much lighter than the SL500. But, after modding, I finally got her down to 13.49@102.5, which I believe to to be the quickest on record for a naturally aspirated E500. And that was before I put the headers on and had LET tune my ECU. I picked up another 20hp/20tq from that. Guessing she'd run a 13.30 or so if I were to have the same track conditions.
