2003 sl500 what is DIAMOND BLUE color like

I am thinking of buying a used 2003 sl500 with 5000 miles loaded but what is Diamond blue color like? I have never seen this color. Also is panorama roof worth having?

There is no Diamond Blue. There is however a Diamond Silver which looks like the Brilliant Silver with a blueish tint.

It is a current color and can be seen at the Mercedes Benz Dealers.

As for the panorama roof most people love it. Personally, I think it looks great from the outside but not from the inside. They use a very cheap net to cover the space and it is framed in skimpy plastic. I don't like that look as it is very cheap so I passed on the roof when I ordered my car.

Good luck.

Diamond Silver is a color that you either love or hate. My wife wanted to get Diamond Silver at first, but when we saw the car in the shade, it looks like a little green tint.

I recommend that you see the color in the bright sunlight and then in the shade before you decide.

I would not buy an SL without the pano roof. My '03 SL did not have one and I hated it. Now our '05 has pano roof and it feels much more spacious. It's worth every dime and more.

I love the Diamond Blue. Much better than the standard ubiquitous silver. I also don't see many of them in San Diego.

Ldoc1234,

Curious, what they are asking for it? I'm under the impression you'd really want to get an '04 for the 7spd transmission...

Good Luck!

Vince is making a good point. There is a huge difference is the pick up of the car between the 7 speed and the 5 speed. The 7 speed did not start until 2004.

I think Diamond Silver Metallic is the color your are look for. I have Diamond Silver Metallic on my SL55 check it out https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...&page=15&pp=10 . It looks very very very good in person.

Please read the above from Tigger. This is the best advise you can get.

I don't think those pics (although good) still don't do the color justice. It's more icy blue. It's analogous to calling launch edition SLs Designo Silver when the color is more green than anything. I love that color, but hated the old Nav.

It all depends on the lighting. It changes from light green to icy blue.
