SL/R230: Offset on these SL rims?
I intend on having the existing axle flanges redrilled for 14 mm wheel bolts like the later S class has. Using a 20 mm hubcentric spacer this would put the offset closer to 10, which is appropriate for a 1969 300 SEL using 18 inch rims.
I would prefer to use the front 8.5 inch wide rims on all four corners, the rear 9.5 inch wide rims are a little much. The SL tires are also way to wide, probably go with 225/40/18 in the front and 245/35/18 in the rear.
I plan on rolling all the fender well lips. I may only be able to get a set of the chrome SL rims, which means I would probably need to have the inner rear fender wells enlarged with new tubs.
