How do you know this? I have heard just the opposite.

No it is not covered by Mercedes. Read the Renntech website. I think both Renntech and Brabus have their own warranty but my read says that it covers their parts only, not components that may be damaged outside of their work.
Bring on the firestorm.......
Good luck trying to stand behind the "masfarcy act" the first time you tell Mercedes that your ECU upgrade had nothing to do with you trans blowing up :-)
This has been a debated topic for some time. The issue seems to be that Mercedes can easily flag your car as being modified and void your warranty. It is then up to you to prove that your upgrade did not cause any warranty issues.
The flip side is that Renntech told me that they have rarely ever had a problem caused by their parts.
Enjoy!

When I bought my car some time ago. I took a walk back in the area where my dealer (Ray Catena Mercedes) keeps many of their SLs. These were new cars and some of them had Brabus and Renntech badges on them. I can't imagine that the dealer would sell these cars new and not offer the same warrantee as the other cars. I'm going to find out if they are covered and if my car would be covered if I upgraded. If they do cover the car under the regular warrantee, I think I'm going to get that ECU upgrade.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Since they install it, I will find out how the warranty is affected. I suspect it will affect the Mercedes Warranty.
Get back to you on Monday about this with the scoop.

I know the dealer near me honors warranties on cars with renntech. They've actually sold 2 new renntech E55, and S55 to one of my friend's dads. They're crazy as hell, and fun to be in!

SL500 and A-CLASS
The dealer in Nashville and Memphis told me that my warranty will be voided. I just can not see how a ECU upgrade affects my tail light.
If you get one, make sure your dealer is a renntech or Barbus dealer. That would make your life a lot easier.

Just my opinion...
Brabus and Renntech have no affiliation with mercedes other than starting with their cars and tuning them. Some MB dealers are certainly Brabus and Renntech dealers as well.
Brabus and Renntech offer their own warranties that cover their parts but I would bet not MB parts broken by their tuning.
I would suspect that if your tail light breaks or your keyless go doesn't then you will not have any problems. However if your trans blows up or your engine throws a rod you can bet the MB regional reps is going to start pointing to your Brabus badge if anything other than cosmetics was done to the car.....
With all this said I am still thinking about an upgrade for my SL65 just don't mislead into thinking that MB is going to cover work from other companies. It is buyer beware....
Enjoy

RennTech told me that the ECU upgrade was not detectable to someone not looking for it. Anyone care to comment?
Now if you put a RennTech badge on the back, you are inviting someone to look for it.
