Diamond White/Red SL550 Arrived!
Ive had it for about a week and what an awesome car! Build quality inside out is amazing even compared to my C63.
Have only put 200 miles on it so haven't had a chance to really see what the bi-turbo v8 can do but definitely feels like a beast. This is my first convertible and can't get over how fast and quite the roof is!
Enjoy!

The badges are really downplayed from previous models. i.e. R230 versions, especially the 2009 up.......
Great in white and the red rocks..........

SL500 Dubai UAE
Just ordered mine today, Iridium Silver with AMG Kit and Black AMG Interior. Decided against the Magic Sky or Panoramic as the temp is currently 45 degrees Celsius today in Dubai and I'm very concerned that it won't be able to filter that level of heat.
Unfortunately the lead time is four months, but it's fantastic to read all the positive reviews.

Congratulations! I have one in Obsidian Black. It is strange though that since these cars are US spec. that yours has the V8 Bi-turbo badge but mine doesn't.

To the OP, excellent choice of color combo... absolutely LOVE the white ext / red int combo. Enjoy!
Your logic is flawed.
"Posing" would imply that he is trying to make his car look like something that it is not.
IE, if he put on an AMG badge, that would be posing.
The car DOES have a v8 bi-turbo, therefore he is NOT posing, by the very definition of the word itself. He is simply representing the truth.
On the flipside... personally I feel the badge is unnecessary since there is no reason to announce something that is a standard feature of all models from the R231 line. If someone sees you in a R231, they already know you have the TT engine. On R230 models, the base models were not twin turbo, so adding the badge to the AMG version made sense to differentiate it back then.
*edit* lol... such a silly thing to post so seriously about... guess i was bored

Then we agree to disagree then because to me it is, the car doesn't come with that badge from the factory call it what you want, it still isn't needed and looks silly IMO. Take out the word posing then if you have a problem with it, its just plain silly.

Those badges only came on the Bill Cooksey limited edition Z06. Yet they looked great on my hood too. It's called customizing.
Now, the new 2013 427 convertible, basically a Z06 convertible, has those badges too. Aftermarket versions are available also but the GM badges look much better.
Was I posing? Hardly! Would I add "Biturbo" badges to my SL? I don't think so. It's too hard to read then pronounce. It looks like Bit-urbo to my brain.

Thanks for the compliments! It has the the premium package magic roof and sport wheel package. Im really impressed with the sound system in this car though (and I got the stock one too). The bass is out of this world and sounds amazing even with the top down.
As for the badge I got it mostly because I didn't like the plain look of the side grills. Its just preference and as others mention was not trying to pose
Calling a badge that mercedes sells and comes on some of these cars tacky is a bit overboard though

Beautiful car, congrats.
I wouldn't call the badges "posing" per-se, but I think they're a little show-offy, though I guess if that's what you're going for then it is what it is. I'm not so into them on a taste level, but I think looks wise, if you want to fill that space (which I can understand) then the V8 badge does well. The "Bi Turbo" under it looks really cluttered, clearly added on, and not meant/harmonious with the design (i.e I don't think Benz designers would ever clutter badges up like that on that particular small space on that particular car).

Really! That's exactly what they did and where they did it on the new R231 SL63.
