Shout-outs from other drivers

Yeah, I get a lot of thumbs-up from other drivers. With the top down, I often get comments. The best so far was, "That's what I'm getting when I win the lottery".

Yesterday, I got a thumbs-up and upon reaching the next red light he pulled up next to me as I was putting the top down. With a big smile he said "Now you're showing off". Debbie and I both got a big chuckle.

Another fellow in in a Shelby Mustang just said "Nice car". I replied in kind. It happens all the time!

Why not tell us about you alls experience with other admiring drivers.

I was stopped at a light yesterday and a spandex-clad road biker pulled up next to me and said "nice car dude." I guess that counts.

Steel Grey 2012 ML350 is wife's
Everywhere I travel and park I receive compliments and thumb's up, from the young and mature alike.... not forgetting to mention the "lets race" fanboys.

My mercedes-owning friends whom I let drive it are floored with the difference between it and my '05 R230 AFA engine response and quickness.

Ambient lighting is the #1 appearance compliment I receive to date.

Yesterday, a driver in another car, at a red light, asked if my matte gray paint was a body wrap. I've been asked that before but have no idea, other than the obvious, what that is.

The comments just keep on coming. It's a rare day that I do not get a complement. Of course that doesn't include members of my Corvette Club who still aks when Mercedes is going to apply paint to the primer.

Oh, BTW, I put a deposit down on a 1975(?) 3rd generation Corvette. Matching numbers, and everything under the hood is correct and recently redone. Needs paint and some minor body work. 100,000+ miles but it runs like a dream. Price-----$8,000-----cheap. It costs more than that to join the golf club next to my house

Three compliments in the supermarket parking lot yesterday. The kid pushing the grocery carts couldn't stop.

Interesting to see the different attitude towards success between Uk and USA. Whereas in the US success is applauded here in England the opposite is true. The nearest to a compliment would be "flash b*****d followed by a key down the side. I remember a little while back in my then S500 sitting at the stop light when a cyclist came by and spat on the windscreen before racing off. Hay ho price of success I suppose. However, I still love driving my new SL500 (550 in the US)

Just off topic has anyone had any success in downloading CD's to the hard disc, every time I try I get as far as "copy CD" and a security message comes up that I am unable to download.

SL550 2013. E350-Wagon 2009. 1968 Karmann Ghia (127k miles).
Students at the community college where I'm a professor regularly give me 'thumbs up' or nice complements. However, I get twice the number of complements when I drive my 1968 Karmann Ghia Coupe. And I bought my Ghia for only $1500 in 1981. However, to be honest, 15 years ago I put $5k into it, to restore its body & remove all rust.

Had a lady tell me last night that the car was beautiful and that in India that was what movie stars drive. Hey, I could be a movie star in India, LOL!

In all fairness I detailed (15 hours) the car this weekend and is is shiny.

Thanks. I washed it, clay barred it, then corrected the paint with Menz and then cleaned it with Klasse AI0 and finished it off with Collinite 845. It's protected for the "harsh" central Texas winters. Unfortunately the wife wants me to do her SUV this weekend.
