Using Pandora in the SL

I have recently posted my question in the Audio forum with zero results.

Am somewhat baffled if nobody has the same issues, so I hope to get some feedback from R231 owners.

Here is a link to the my post. Hope my question makes sense.

Also, has anyone plugged in their iPhone or iPad via the USB interface in the center console (rather than the MIP)?

I tried both my iPhone 4S (old connector) and iPad mini (lightning connector) and both devices show as "USB device unreadable".

Am somewhat disappointed of how low-end (or non-extistant) the integration of apps is on the latest and greatest command.

No Pandora, Stitcher, or other apps. What little there is on Mercedes Apps seems like a joke, especially at almost $15 a month.

Love to hear your feedback!

Well,

After spending some time on this, I realized that some functionality is simply not available.
For whatever reason I assumed that the basic Media Interface in the '13 models (which is standard and not part of a package) includes the Media Interface Plus.

MIP gives you the separate Pandora link in the Command pull-down. That interface, however, can't be ordered with the SL nor does it work (according to the dealer).
It appears to only be compatible with earlier model years (up to '11?) and appears to be a somewhat inferior product.

So there appears to be a new interface coming that offers tight iPhone integration, including web radio (which is what I really want). So for right now, Pandora will only work from the phone (with no controls)
