2014 SL550 Pricing

I ordered a 2014 SL550 a few months ago. The car arrived in the states about a month ago, however it has been sitting at the shipyard for about a month because Mercedes would not release the car due too many 2013 SLs sitting on the lots. I got a call from my dealer saying the car should be in any day, however they want to do the paperwork now to have the car on their books this month. They gave me the numbers on the phone with regards to my lease, and it seems as if they are trying to take me to the cleaners!

MSRP: $127,215
Sell Price: $122,576 ($4,639k discount)
Residual: 59%
Money Factor .00245 (5.8% )
36 Months
7,500 Miles

Monthly Payment = $2,100

I think this is a terrible deal!

What do you guys think...

Why not get into a 2013 & take advantage of the current deal.

I am leaving Saturday for Stuttgart to pick up my 2014 SL63 - can't speak to the deal you got but I know the numbers for the 2014 cars. While the base price went up about $2500 the car now includes the clock, the Premium 1 Package and a few other things. All in all, our cost on the car actually dropped almost $5k from what a 2013 63 would have cost...and we're getting more.

I did some homework and this is what I found...

2013 Mercedes SL550 Convertible (I know this says 2013 but can't imagine a big difference with the 2014s)
36 Month – Residual 53% of MSRP – .00070 Base Rate (1.68%)

My dealer is giving me a money factor of .00245 (5.88% which is an insult!!!)

MSRP/Invoice spread of ~6%.
Dealer typically has another ~4-5% in holdbacks not published.
10% off is probably a good deal before any incentives/fleet.
MB has a Customer One rebate the dealer can use for another $4500 off.
I assume I should be able to get at least of 7k off the car...

My goal is to negotiate this car under $1,700 a month. Even at $1,700 they are still making money off this car!!

GOAL:
MSRP: $127,215
Sell Price: $120,576 ($6,639k discount)
Residual: 53%
Money Factor .00127
36 Months
7,500 Miles

Monthly Payment = $1,698

What do you guys think...

2013 SL63
Custom order on a 2014 with rising interest rates (market rates) make it tough to compare to a 2013 model that is sitting on the lot that they really want to move.

Try whittling the dealer down on both the discount and the lease rate. You should be able to get $10k off of msrp.

You may have to wait until the last day of the month for them to be a little more flexible. Maybe they will get caught up in a Labor Day push too.

No real difference between a '13 and a '14. Three year lease with 7500/miles a year, should be no more than $1,300-$1,400/month, IMO.

No reason to expect a residual under 59%, especially for 7500miles a year.
Or a money factor above .00120.

Wether it's custom ordered or not, tell them they can keep the car. The deal they offered is an insult unless you have terrible credit.

I would check out the 13's at other dealers, there really is no difference at all between the 13's and 14's minus the split screen which is BS in a convertible...

i just leased a 2013 with 33 months / 15,000 miles and the residual was 59% - yes they have a special program to move the old metal but I would expect a higher residual for a 7,500 mile contract.

SL550
Just paid for my 2014 SL550 Euro Delivery today and will pick it up in about a week. Base price went from $105,500 to $106,700 (+$1,200). Package1 is now standard as is the clock.
PO1 4,900
Clock 250
_____________
5,150
-1,200
____________
3 ,950 Amount car was actually reduced

Hope this helps.

Has anyone put wheel locks on their 2013 SL550 with the Sport Wheel Package?
What Mercedes part did you use? I am getting conflicting reports from different dealers. One says B66470155 another B66470156. Even when I call McGuard they are not sure of the number to use on this model. Any help is appreciated.

2014 SL550
I am looking to buy a new 2013/2014 SL550. What kind of a discount off the list price can a get from the dealership? 10%, 15%? Any comment on how to get the best price will be appreciated.
Thank you, Joe.

$111k-$97k=$14k
You say $5,500 below invoice.
I assume the invoice is $97k+$5,500=$102,500.
Who is the dealer?
How do you find the invoice price for 2014 MB SL550?
I think this a perfect deal.
I have not seen a better deal on the internet.
I am looking to buy a 2014 SL550.
It seems this is the best deal going.
Please email me the name of the dealership, contact person to sifis@att.net.
Thank you.

Loaded question. First, if you are thinking of some quick and easy web lookup, forget it.

The best price means what? Lowest price on a loaded car, barebone car, most desirable, least desirable color combo? Financed, cash or lease?

The lowest price is rarely the best deal.

First find out what you want exactly, then find the dealers that have the cars and best yet, the ones with the most SL's on the lot and then contact them and start negotiating. How you pay makes a huge difference on the final deal.

Excellent question.
I know exactly what I want.
2014 SL550
Black over Red
Paying cash.
$110K MSRP (minimal bells & whistles).
Question,
MB offers "Magic sky control" for $2,500.
Is that the panorama view?
Thank you.

All US SL's have the panorama roof standard (no steel roof). If its too sunny you can close a perforated screen to lessen the brightness.
The Magic Sky is an electro-chromatic tint. you can press a button for the glass to darken (either clear or dark blue). When the car is turned off, the roof is dimmed for lowered sun impact.

Have it, love it, but if I were you, I'd rather spend another $4k on ABC.

Btw, I find that cash typically gets you a lesser deal on the car as the dealer makes quite a bit of money on the lease/financing.

I just came back from the dealer and the most he was willing to give was $10k off MSRP of $112k for '14. Money factor was 0.00122 w/autopay and 58% residual. No down, lease payment + tax = $1295/month. I was hoping for ~$1100

Actually sounds pretty good for a '14 with that money factor. For a new S550 with the same msrp you would be paying no less than $1700

I found exactly the opposite. I got another $7K off with cash over a lease. I asked for both and was surprised at the large differential. Cash was king.
