If you take the time to understand the macroeconomic forces that determine the price of oil and gas and hence retail gasoline, you will realize that the President - ANY President - has very little influence on the price at the pump. I am not defending Uncle Joe per se, but just pointing out that the current social media hysteria on pinning the blame for the recent price increases does not stand up to even basic fact checking.
Since this is bordering on a political discussion, and since I do NOT want to imply that I am speaking on behalf of my employer, I will say no more. I will urge all who have an interest, though, to dig into the facts for themselves.

Obviously, no one has a monopoly on myopic bombast either: you didn't even bother to address the other contributing factors I mentioned. But that's OK. I have youngsters in my family and am used to their lack of sophistication and youthful simplemindedness.
I'd say we're done here, wouldn't you agree? Have a nice day, won't you?

This forum reflects a demographic that is supposed to be a little more sophisticated from a soci-economic perspective. I hope we all feel at least a slight responsibility to at least TRY to post based on data/facts versus political ideology REGARDLESS of our own political leanings. I mean if we, with all the advantages our demographic suggests, can't take the time to get it right how can we expect others to follow suit?

Everyone calm down. Lets talk about things we ALL have in common.

I have a simple formula for times these days:
ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA + TARGET MARKETING = YOUR NEWS
left or right you're being sold
Coffee's for closers...

Our governor asked the state assembly to pass a bill that would remove the state fuel tax for at least 30 days. Bill passed on Wednesday and the fuel tax was lifted today. Any fuel delivered beginning today will not be taxed by the state. This reduces the price by 36 cents a gallon. Not sure how I feel about this. It's a nice gesture but I also like well maintained roads and bridges.

Well I can say you probably have much better roads in Hagerstown than we have here in the DMV area. Gas tax or no Gas tax our roads will remain the same, fix some lose some. Personally my faith in government competency overall has waned. Hogan has grand political aspirations and this IMO is nothing more than a tactic to increase his likability.
And if you live in an area plagued with potholes, get a beater to drive. You can't really drive your $100k+ car like it needs to be in DC.
