High idle 2014 sl550 20k miles
Just noticed over the last couple of days my idle is higher than normal about 75- 80% of the time, normal is around 550-600 and this is typically where it starts when first started but it seems to end up around 800 after driving a few miles.
It is not hunting and is stable but most of the time is a few hundred revs high.
Any typical things to look for?
Seems if I turn the ignition off then restart it will regain the normal idle but soon revert to high. No CEL.
thanks

Funny you should ask that as I think the high idle started soon after a fill up.
Day before yesterday I got a bottle of fuel system cleaner and octane booster, have put it in but not yet driven many miles to see if it helps.
I will report back after a good few miles.

As an update.
Put fuel additive/cleaner in tank and have had a chance to do a few hundred miles and also spirited acceleration and some high rev cruising.
Seems to be back to normal now, not sure if it was a computer glitch or old/dirty fuel?
Will be doing around 1500 miles in the next week or so and hope it stays good.

The car can raise the idle for a variety of reasons, it could be that your battery is getting weak and the system needed a little more alternator output to maintain charge, hard to say.
If the car is not setting a CEL there's not much to do about it. You could have it inspected at the dealership but most techs won't look far is there's no codes.
