Our Nav. has been updated to N.America 2017/2018 V8

Darn, we just had our '17 in for its 1 year service and, of course, the dealer did not mention or do this.

Almost everything on the car I like but the Nav is very poor and antiquated. Needs a thorough update for 2019/20, made much bigger(and preferably hidden until needed as opposed to where they are going at present as its too ugly) quicker voice activation just by saying the complete address and street number plus in one go) touch screen.............and do not get rid of the hard convertible top............and if ABC is included I will take mine next year..thankyou

For me, the biggest weakness is no info about the next exit until it's only a mile away. I prefer Apple Maps giving a mileage countdown as well as an announcement 10 miles and 2 miles before the exit.

My NAV is really talkative when I hit heavy traffic, like it'll announce all congestion ahead. This announcement sometimes goes non-stop for over 10 minutes. However, I do appreciate it delivers real-time traffic data. (although useless)
I am not a big fan of Apple map either as it's pretty hard to get used to.
My solution is to use a CD slot mount so I can use Waze/GoogleMap.

As of late I find Google Maps inferior to Apple Maps. On the Tesla, Google looked better but Apple had better traffic reroute and directions on a few test comparisons I did.

Since Waze is owned by Google this will not come to Apple CarPlay but there is a quick way to get Waze to work (limited) via CarPlay.

I had wifi mirroring, but iOS upgrade killed it. I might have my car guy change it to wired mirroring instead.

This is a workaround that I tried a year and it worked; just not on screen. No idea if it still works with the current iOS version. http://www.carplaylife.com/how-to/ho...apple-carplay/
