I just printed out the VIN decoder for my new (to me) 2013 C250 Sport.
So......where do I find out what all of these codes mean?
For instance......
165 production location vehicle south africa
1U2 snow grid
494 US version
508 Navibox preinstallation
523 radio audio 20
803 YOM12/1

I've got the easy ones:
I just printed out the VIN decoder for my new (to me) 2013 C250 Sport.
So......where do I find out what all of these codes mean?
For instance......
165 production location vehicle south africa your vehicle was assembled in MB's East London, South Africa factory.....
1U2 snow grid
494 US version ...with left-hand drive for the US market....
508 Navibox preinstallation ....my limited research seems to indicate your car came prewired for the "Becker add on sat nav box" which may be a UK dealer option for a separate module in the glove box.
523 radio audio 20 basic radio head unit, no COMAND, no multimedia, with a CD drive and a touch pad. If you're interested, I found a video showing how to add Apple/Android CarPlay functionality, below.

Those VIN decoder sites are great for older cars, but newer models often lag way behind — even a Mercedes VIN Check can run into the same issue. If the car isn’t in a public database yet, WIS or direct dealer access is usually the only reliable option. Until those databases get updated, there’s not much you can do besides waiting it out or asking a dealer to pull the build sheet.
