SL/R231: Debadged, front plate removed

Home Depot has screw covers in their fastener aisle. I believe they come in white or black. They're designed to fit into a particular size of Philips head but I just glued mine on because I couldn't find a screw that would sit flat enough. A couple of cars ago I used white ones painted with silver touch-up paint and it looked fine.

I think most cars do. In Massachusetts we used to have only rear plates, with green lettering. They switched to two plates with red lettering in the early 90's during a 6 month period when I lived in the city and had no car. Ironically my last one-plate car was a 1986 Nissan Maxima that I completely debadged and put a Japanese license plate on front. I have a friend that still has a green plate and she has had 3 Lexus RX's, all with empty front plate brackets installed!

If one gets ticketed too often for missing front license plates, there is is an electric one that disappears under the car just by pressing a steering wheel button. Made by Midcity Engineering.
Our first 2013 already had the ugly license plate bracket installed by the dealer in error but on our 2nd we left it off and eventually installed one a special holder that was below the grill install on their air intake grill. No holes and it was almost flush...

We just got rid of the front plate here in Ohio starting July 2020. Ha! for the past 20 years I've refuse to defy my front ends with em.

On mine, I bought the plastic / rubber plugs at HD and after inserting them painted them with touch up paint. Mine is Lunar Blue and they match perfectly, just two little bumps on the fender line.
