And, in my mind, I can hear the sound the Mustang door makes as it is closed, the feel of the seats, steering wheel & controls, the working of the suspension, etc. Not that the Ford is bad, just two, completely different caliber of cars. And, I truly believe the differences are noticeable between the MB classes. An SL is like an S Class. An E, is a step lower, etc. My wife’s E350 is a great car, but doesn’t compare to my S or SL.

Count me as #3 - no soft top. My last three vehicles: removable hardtop '14 Corvette - '18 E-Cabriolet - and currently '17 SL63 ....
NO COMPARISON - NEVER GO BACK lol

I’m sure your 2018 E Cab was nicer than my 1995 E320 Cab, but I was SO disappointed in that car. The only MB I had owned before it were SL’s and a 560SEC coupe. The E was a giant step below those cars. Not anywhere in the same league.

I realized after 3 months of ownership (E400) that I had made a mistake ... about a year later we were in the local MB dealership and a new Polar White SL63 was on the turntable ... my wonderful spouse said if you like it buy it ... well, I did look at CPO's for several months and snagged the one in my profile - a '17 with Magic Sky and the 2-Stage Performance Suspension .... What an amazing automobile. She's a Keeper.

I’ve gone back and forth between hardtop and soft tops. 2005 T-Bird (Both hard & soft top), 2009 BMW 335i hardtop convertible, 2014 BMW 650i soft top, 2018 SL550, and my current 2020 SL550. I prefer the hardtop verts and really don’t want another soft top, which is why I bought the 2020 SL.

Will be sticking with mine. I had a SLK 350 (R172) before this and both cars left me with the same feeling. Coupé with the roof up and roadster with roof open. Always feels like I got 2 cars for the price of one they just feel so different roof open or closed.
