Dual-Zone Auto Climate Control

Can someone please explain the function of the "FOCUS, MEDIUM & DIFFUSE" indicators on the small screen/panel between left and right temperature setting dials on the face of the Control Panel for the dual-zone climate control. I had my car out yesterday evening and noticed the FOCUS indicator was illuminated.

From your owners manual:

You can select the following climate mode
settings in automatic mode:
FOCUS high airflow that is set slightly
cooler
MEDIUM medium airflow, standard setting
DIFFUSE low airflow that is set slightly
warmer and with less draft

Just press the Air Flow button to select.

I find focus best with the roof open and diffuse with it closed!

Thanks for the info I will try it out once I finish my 14 day self isolation period. Our provincial/municipal government is talking about severely restricting non-essential road travel so it may be a while before I get to enjoy my car.

Well for fun you can play with the settings in your driveway and still be socially distancing. 😊
Here on the Texas Gulf Coast it is either hot enough or the humidity so high we use the AC 12 months of the year. Here the setting stays on “Focus”......

Utopia - Exactly. And when the wife joins me she'll have the Seat Heater & Air Scarf on High. It's like doing a "Weird Weather" broadcast on The Weather Channel.

On a cold day with the roof open, I crank the temp up to about 25 C angle all 4 vents to roughly blow toward the top of my head. That with, the wind block and the air scarf (IMO) create a warm air curtain keeping us snug.

rorywquin,

Great suggestion as it may be the only way I'll get to enjoy my car for the next few weeks/months. I purchased the car last July but spent the summer and well into the fall at the cottage so didn't drive it much. Having returned from the US 6 weeks earlier than scheduled I thought that I would at least have the pleasure of driving the SL as a consolation for having our winter holiday cut short. My isolation period ends in two days so I'm hoping to get out this weekend if we get some decent weather.. Up here in the frozen north snow is a possibility well into mid-April.

Bob

God's County....not country - Yorkshire where I live in the UK is a very beautiful part of the world and often referred to as 'God's County'

Correct. My typo. My wife and I have had the pleasure of some travel to England, Ireland and Scotland and without a doubt some very beautiful, beautiful spots.

The SL keeps you warn even on quite cold days - I went out last week when it was 5C with the roof open but I was wearing fleece as swell.

No shrinkage on a retractable hard top. 😊
Now once the next series comes out with a soft top shrinkage may be a problem! 😊😊😊

Much like the USA - we did a trip in 2015. Main objective was the PCH (but also Vegas etc). San-Diego to Vancouver (Canada)/ Whistler and back down to Seattle with detours to Crater Lake etc. What a fabulous trip and stunning scenery. Been struggling to get back but had elderly in-laws and couldn't plan any long trips. Wife's dad died in December and we were planning another trip when Covid-19 started......Now looking at going next year.

We'd booked to do the NC500 here and have just cancelled all our bookings.....https://www.northcoast500.com

rorywquin - Very sorry for your loss. When you first posted your plans for the NC500 I did take the opportunity to view it - Awesome. Hope it reschedules for you in short order and your calendar will accommodate. Stay safe.
