Frame rail / bumper protection

As I look to lower the SL on Braun’s spring this month, I am wondering if MB or any aftermarket company makes frame rail protectors akin to what I have on my Corvette?

I’ve done a fair bit of searching, but know this group is generally ahead of the curve - so I thought I would check in.

Rails (and the little frame forward wheels on the radiator support) were invaluable for the unexpected speed bump or unavoidable steep pitch curb. Well worth the extra weight.

If anyone is aware of something similar - please share. Otherwise it will be off to the metalworker and see what we can fabricate.

Thanks in advance!

i had them on my c6, after my mechanic made a hole on the rocker panel (with lift arms) which are bonded to cabin frame.

However in the SL those panels are replaceable i believe.
SL underside might not have the same type of space to put one in like the corvettes

It might help with very low bump situation i suppose.
good luck with your search.

The only thing that will see damage on a lowered SL (springs) will be the front bumper... with normal driving that is. Taking on a speed bump at 40 mph or so could so damage to the undercarriage but likely only dent a panel and destroy some undercoating. The rocker panels and simply removable side skirts and wouldn't see a hit

Thanks for updates folks. I may look to see if there are some nose protectors to mount. I’m generally very careful about approach angles and what not with a low car - but there is always that one time. . .
