Sorry to see you leave the SL family after all of this time. Good luck on your new adventure!

Curious...will you get any new "fun" ride to replace the SL or upgrade one of your other cars and if so to what?

Always found your posts interesting and informative.

Thanks.
I have no plans on replacing the SL. There really isn’t anything out there that I like. As I get older, I find that I just like my big, comfy, S Class sedan and drive it most of the time.

I can relate to the older part. At 75 my SL is spending more and more time parked than on the road. I thought I might like a new C8 Corvette but don’t need another garage queen.

Sad to you see you let this go! On the positive side it looks like that for the last year you have driven your SL450 much more than your old R230
Good luck with the sale!

Streamliner you have been a great contributor to this forum and you should know that in significant part I purchased my current SL based on your observations about among other things, ABC. I'm sure we all understand how tastes and needs change and so you will move on, but you will be missed!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I don’t think the car will sell quickly, so I’ll be around for awhile.

Good luck with the sale Stream! Exquisite and tasteful updates on a low mileage dream car. If it was an SL63 - I’d be heading your way now!

Stream has secretly pre-ordered a 232 with soft top and rear seats but just won’t admit it.....😊

Beautiful cars to be sure, but probably not for me. I just saw some specs on the upcoming Z06. It will be a rocket ship. Now, if they would realize that there could be a big market with older drivers, and offer the base Corvette with some active safety options, maybe a softer, more comfortable version, I might take a look.

Well, like I said, I’m still alive and the SL is still in the garage, so I’ll be around.

You would fit right in to age demographic of the average Corvette buyer. With the C8 GM is trying to attract younger buyers. Time will tell if they are successful.

Actually, it was, but it was also coming to the realization that I’m getting to be an older guy and that I just don’t drive that much anymore. I’ve driven the SL at least once a week since I got it, more to keep it fresh and lubricated than anything else. And, my wife is not thrilled with top down driving, so whenever she and I go somewhere, it’s always my sedan or the wagon.

That's a bummer. My wife will literally drive nothing else but the convertible. Unless it rains or we need to transport something bulky, top-down it is

MB’s of all kinds.
Jesus that is beautiful. Are you sure you want to sell that car? They do not make them like that as of next year.... I doubt anything else similar that has 2 seats will ride like that. Except maybe the new SL...

Didn't you just get new rotors? And wheels too? Now you're selling it?

Both wheels and CCB are imbedded in the price.

Sold 06 CLS500. SL550 09. SL550 2013. Own C6 Corvette heavily customized garage queen 2005.
Streamliner, I am still holding on(never had a MB for well over 7 years before)to see if MB really pulls it out of the box next year(when for gods sake?) but with respect I think you are on the high side even with the upgrades, depreciation being the main factor from new, but no harm in seeing what pops up and if MB had stated to wait another 2 years would have given some serious thought to your car(with some healthy negotiating to make both parties happy) as its exactly the same as mine, apart from the extra on the wheels and ABC plus the fact that mine is a 550. I know how much you have looked after her. Wish you luck in your sale though, damn fine car.

p.s. Just had mine serviced and got a shock when I found out I had only had it serviced 10 months ago and put on just 3500 miles. So wondered why I booked her in again(time just goes, had no idea) Had another oil change at 66K and they found a few issues, drivers door making a bad creaking sound which I thought was just a matter of lubrication, its coming from within the door stemming from a lower hinge. Also was noted that the right side air intake duct had separated. Engine air filters to be replaced soon. Coolant cap seeping? Plus Engine mounts, not broken but more stretch than normal so just biding my time as they didn't feel it necessary to replace immediately.. C8 coming next week supposedly, yet I was told this 5, then 4 then 3 months ago. Still haven't seen one in the flesh. And if it doesn't come then will cancel as will be overseas for a while. Always had great fortune in buying cars and can honestly say this has been more than difficult this time round but then again what hasn't?

I commend you for being the first to state it out loud. I think most are still under the shock from boldness of asking price.
