I keep getting this error randomly. I had the code read and it says the battery is fine. Seems that volts are ok but I did have the car sitting for 3 months where the main batter went bad and I had to replace it.
Would you guys assume that its a pretty good bet the Auxiliary battery is bad too?
Thanks

2006 CLS55 AMG Sold 2010 E550 Coupe totaled '13 SL550 current and loving it!
The first couple of issue's I see is "ECO" And "E"..you need to see some "Sport" and "S"'s on that dash lol. To answer your question, I don't have an exact answer but have to assume if you are seeing the warning, it is probably coming to end of it's life and needs/will need replacement sooner than later.

I 've had that message on a C-Class and it was a voltage regulator that they covered "under warranty", even though I was well past 50,000 miles. I think I did have to pay something for this on my SL though; I'll search my Inbox.

lol, Jesus is my Service Advisor, and he actually pronounces is like we do in English: "JEE-zuz". I asked him if it's actually "hay-ZOOSS" and he said no, and oddly enough it's not even his first name, it's his middle name and doesn't appear in his email address. There are other Latinx staff at the dealership and none of them will pronounce it like that. He has come to learn that the estimates he sends me will only be the beginning of a lengthy discussion; you should see the $7732.28 estimate he gave my daughter's previous 2010 ML350 at a Service B!
Anyway, he comped the tire rotation, the auxiliary battery came to $406.72, the 50,000 mile service was $797.65, and I convinced him that the oil leak was a warranty issue. Oh, and a 20% discount brought the whole thing to $1037.86, lunch on them of course.

But why do the dealerships do that; make everything a negotiation? That's what drives owners to independent mechanics, especially on older cars.
Who knows?? (lol, when my daughter was in high school she and her friends said "who knows?" so often they would just say "HN"; "HK" was "who cares?")
I'm a leasing consultant; I negotiate for a living so when I'm off the clock I prefer to just cut right to the chase. I think the SAs are required to send the crazy estimates. The $7700 one for my daughter's old ML included $1300+ for 4 tires because the was a cut in one rear tire (that had been there over a year and had passed state inspections) and the fronts were "non brand Nexen tires". I bought 2 more Nexens for $300 mounted. It included $625+ to repair the brake light (common ML problem) that I fixed with a $16 harness splice from Amazon (I later learned a free fix I wish I had done). Some of the other items were just plain comical:
Transmission oil pan: pan is rot, brackets to transmission is corroded, will start to leak $756.20
Guide pulley: pulleys is noisy and moving side to side, could eventually break $338.40
Belt tensioner: add belt $360.83
Engine air filter replacement: $203.17
Wiper linkage: rear wiper arm broken, blah, blah, blah (long story): $1379.00

LOL! So much for modern, feel-good education. Who (or should I say "Hoo") needs to learn how to spell when you have autocorrect all the time? Hoo Nose?

HN and HK make them secret comments, lol. Now my wife and I say HK all the time. Oddly enough, when we tell someone HK stands for Who Caresthey tend to comment that WHO begins with W, missing the K altogether.....
