Good afternoon,
New 2013 SL 550 owner here and would like to know if you had any suggestions positive or negative for indoor car covers. Nothing fancy needed and will be in a fairly climate controlled garage. Wanting more for dust and kid protection. Thanks in advance.
Best,
Kyle
Bought this from Amazon for another car but it should fit the SL, excellent quality.

Bubble wrap. Check the packing supplies at Costco.

I use a Coverking Satin Stretch. It's a great indoor cover that form fits the car perfectly. Coverking custom makes each cover of this model so it takes a few weeks to get from them. The inside of the cover is a made of a soft fleece lining which does a great job of protecting the paint. It is extremely soft, but you should make sure to clean your car (including wheels) BEFORE you put the cover on. It can be washed though. I just prefer to keep it clean. Most covers I see, especially outdoor covers, tend to be too abrasive against paint.
Exactly what I’m looking for as the paint is nearly perfect on this ‘13 and I’d prefer to keep it that way. Thank you so much. I’m going to order right now.

Echoing the caution mentioned above, the frequent use of a car cover, i.e. taking it off and putting it on can cause damage, especially on dark color cars. I have found that parking indoors without a cover as long as the garage isn't occupied by animals and unruly adults and children, I leave my SL uncovered. If I had to park outdoors I would use a quality outdoor cover but would only put it on IF the car is very clean. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

Thank you so much. I’m just thinking the snowy winter months when I won’t be driving and to avoid the possibility of the 5 yo accidentally dinging it. Appreciate the feedback.
