In the optionslist, I saw that DVD’s can be read in my SL (2012 model) there is a 6 disc changer
I am pretty sure it reads CD’s only. But I inserted a concert DVD, but it gives a looprunning error, or something like that translated.
anyway, the disc is not spinning and is just sitting there.
there is no eject button, only the option to eject all discs to be selected via the console controlls. It does indicate this one disc is in the changer, but it does nothing.
anyone have an idea how to get it out.

I tried some more buttons and holding them but it foes nothing.
I tried to insert another CD but it touches the DVD not so deep inside. To no avail.
so I will ask the garage next service
This happened on our old ML some years ago. Try disconnecting the battery for at least 15 min. After you reconnect the battery the buttons should work and release the disk. Don't just push the button, you have to hold the button down for a few seconds. Good luck..

I thought disconnecting the battery has a rist of things not resetting properly. (In general, not directly for the soundsystem)
There is no button, the eject option cannot be selected in the menu.

You metioned the risk of resetting things. That is possible I guess, but it worked for us on our former ML SUV without causing any issues. I have been driving my SUV lately, so I didn’t have my car for a reference on your disc issue. I didn’t know what disc eject choices were available in the SL, however I will be driving my car this morning and will look at it to see what I can figure out for you.
Edit--When I looked in the SL this morning I snapped this pic. I am confused because I thought all R231 models had the same control unit. (the section with the volume control navi buttons, etc. under the head unit that I am pointing at? (name- control unit?). You are saying that you do not have this button directly beside the disc button in your car?? When I push the button pictured my disc ejects.

DVD movies can be played in the SL. Prior to CarPlay I watched DVDs all the time in the car while waiting on my wife to finish shopping. I still have a concert DVD in the SL now and that DVD is what I ejected as mentioned below.

I think there is not enough information here. Have you tried to eject via comand on screen? Is the whole optical drive offline (as the message seem to indicate) or does the disk slot show empty when there is disk inside?

Mine is SLIGHTLY different.
Maybe changed with facelift? But they function the same. If you have tried all that you feel comfortable doing maybe a stereo shop can help. Many Best Buys have car stereo installation or maybe a local reputable shop. Might be easier and cheaper than the dealer. Good Luck.
