MB makes a product too. PN is in that thread...

I used Gummi Pflege on my SLK (3 years)and had to refresh it frequently.
Purchased Krytox, and have not needed to redo the seals for 3years.
Be careful using it. A little goes a long way and it is impossible to remove (need a special solvent) if you get it where you do not want it.
It is recommended by the car manufacturers.

On a side note: Is it true that it is best to keep the engine running when you have the top in a semi-open state in order to clean and lubricate all of the various rubber seals? I have heard or read that the top may close on its own if the engine is not kept running.

I have some correspondence from the UK importer (I believe that it is a Dupont product) which I can forward to you if interested. Watch-out for the Ebay knock-offs.
It is a heavy roof. Some people make a prop (from an old broomhandle between the top of the wind screen and the roof to keep it open. MB used to sell a service tool for the job. Apparently keeping the engine running is a solution. I have not tried with the engine running (it does slowly fall closed without it running be careful).
